😠 Now a complete scam. They just take your money and do nothing. It was once a reliable service but, this has not been the case for many years. I even posted a glowing review about them in 2013 which can be seen below. But, I finally dropped them 2 years ago. I would pay my bill and my sites would not be visable on the web for about 2 months or more. This went on for about 3 years. I'm very surprised to see that their website is still taking people's money. RIDICULOUS! It needs to be shut down.

transferring my info. Getting very frustrated trying to get an answer. I am believing that this host site has no humans running this Site. Will be looking for another site soon.

😠 Reseller will give you your domain back!!
I called Softlayer (the company that Hostfor2bucks uses for their domain registration) and they are very aware of the situation and will allow you to transfer your domain to GoDaddy without a wait period. Just give them a call. It took me 10 minutes on the phone after my business domain was non-functioning for over a month!

haven't been able to pay for continued hosting cause an error on the processing on their webpage. created ticket and emails and have yet to hear from them. contact number is no longer in service. it you do a whois on www.hostfor2bucks.com you get additional contact info but they don't answer (1-678-369-0612) but at least phone rings.
if you do a whois on the www.hostfor2buck.com you get a phone number (1-678-376-0122) and if you do a Google map to the address claim to be hostfor2buck, it takes you to Express Copy Print & Ship which incidentally has the same phone number as hostfor2buck registered under whois.
MY BAD. SORRY FOLKS THOUGHT I HAD FOUND THE PHONE NUMBER. RIGHT ADDRESS. WRONG BUSINESS. but the owner sounds the same. people saying they get bad service. again I apologize for the wrong info. just frustration with hostfor2bucks I am overlooking what I am seeing. again false hope.

😠 Hostfor2bucks.com not functional
I have had 3 domains hosted here for years but like many others I been having trouble getting responses from them for about the last year. I have been trying to reach them for about 5 months because of issues with accessing the control panel of my sites. I finally got one of them working but am still fighting with the last 2. Unfortunately I had an issue with the payment on Beadiebods domain this month so the payment got there after due date. They took the payment but domain has not been renewed. Since then have sent more emails, opened more tickets and searched for some way to reach them. The number listed for them is disconnected, they still aren't answering any emails or responding to tickets. I will talk to my bank about what I can do about the payment but may have to write it off and find a new hosting site. STAY AWAY Find a host with support

😠 Mike's so called review below has to be from the owner or a friend. He posted on BBB that Hostfor2bucks is great, yeah right Mike! Stop posting good reviews for your own company!!! BBB has you at a big fat "F" You are the FLAKE, a paid review con artist. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!! If you get a domain name from them, they will hijack it so you can NOT transfer it. This will leave you stuck and you will lose business / money.

😠 Horrible support service!!! I have sent multiple emails & opened multiple support tickets. All with NO response!!! I have been customer for 12 years. It works fine WHEN it is up, but good luck when it isnt. I have had DNS issues, Login issues, & content missing issues to name a few. Some of the past issues were fixed, but no notification of this was sent and support tickets weren't closed. Currently, I am unable to access my website to make critical changes and have NOT had any response to my numerous attempts to resolve this issue.

I have been trying to get in contact with hostfor2bucks.com since june with no response. I have submitted a complaint with BBB and the correspondence has come back as nondeliverable. I have no way to access my website and I desperately need to update it!
This is a bit ridiculous! I would never use this company again and am transferring all my domains away from them.
I also had to renew my domain (which I can not move since i can not access the control panel) and I still can not access!!! I have been told it is now a lost cause. I have had this domain for 8 years and it is on all my marketing!

😠 Website hijacked
For others having problems with this company - please file a complaint with the BBB. I too am having problems, apparently the same as other people who wrote reviews here. My site wnet down, I had to reset the passwords. About 3 times. They finally replied to my email (shock!) and said someone hacked my account and used it to send out spam. So they were on purpose resetting my passwords but not telling me. How am I supposed to know?? Then, after three times, they quit responding. Numerous emails, opened 3 tickets with them, even sent them a fax, they don't answer their phone. Nothing. I googled their address, it can't find it. Puts me in the middle of an intersection I don't know where. AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHH!

😠 Awful customer service
There has always been quirks with hostfor2bucks, but hey they cost $2. Ive been with them for about 15 years. As of june my sites have been having all sorts of issues. My control panel passwords have been changed. I have sent in a ticket every day for over a month and received my log in info for a site I wasnt requesting info on. Now that site is down too. I just renewed it. I can not receive emails on my main domain, it is impeding my ability to do business since I use my email addresses to book appointments with clients. Luckily that site is still up. One of my other sites is missing all its graphics. When I went in to check, it looks like it has been hacked and graphics removed.

I've been with this company since 2004. Obviously I liked something about them- the price. When it's up, it's fine. When it's down, things go back really fast. The biggest issue is that customer service is non-responsive. When I have a question, they would either not answer it, or answer it in a way that wasn't clear. When I ask for clarification, they'd repeat the same thing. So we wasted a lot of time. My site has gone down A LOT. When I go to log in to fix it, my passwords are changed and I am locked out. So, they have to reset them and send them to me, all the while acting like *I* locked myself out. The latest issue is that I just completely lost 2 sites. Just like that- poof- they are gone. I contacted them to get it back up and they have just ignored me. No response at all. I had to redo the whole thing from scratch with another host. Obviously that cost a LOT!

After six years of hosting my own as well as other sites there, I have never ever had a problem with hostfor2bucks. I have seen some the bad reviews but these people are probably just flakes. Had an excellent recent experience with the customer service department submitted by way of a trouble ticket. I had a response and my problem solved in less than 2 hours. I can not think of one reason not to use them.

😁 Joomla works great. I installed it by going to Fantastico in cpanel. Real easy. You simply select it from the list of applications and click install, that's it. Been with them for 4 years now and the price hasn't gone up. Good provider.

😠 Host for 2 bucks does not support joomla due to security file which you need to correct the ini file for security issues, the only problem is that there is no ini file because hostfor2cucks does not address the issue of the security files, so therefore you can not access your site, they write emails but never really help you with the problem. Then when you complain they go into your other websites on their server and mess up your image files etc. plus try to relogin to your account and you usually can not access that either. Please pay a professional web hosting company.
