Once amazing but now fallen apart.
I switched to HostClearly back in 2012 after some terrible experiences with previous hosts. Having tried several services in the past HC was fantastic and I stayed loyal to them for years. The customer service used to respond within hours, there were a lot of features, reasonably priced and relatively low stressed for users with some hosting experience. They were a small company of knowledgeable people and were very polite.

Unfortunately the small hosting company grew too big and didn't grow with its customer base. After the initial servers filled up they purchased new ones, and would do transfers without a lot of notice. I was one of the ones transferred and I ended up on a server that was a total lemon. Constantly down, bunch of scripts broke.

Eventually tickets started taking longer and longer to be answered. After another transfer, which was a nightmare for me because I had hostees to notify, scripts constantly breaking, I ended up having [read more...]

They have THE worst customer service ever. If you have a problem with your site it takes them several days (average of a week) to respond to you - and their responses are rude, and there's absolutely no hurry in fixing any problem - if they ever do. So even if it's on their end, and not something you did, good luck getting any help. If it were their business site that was down they'd be all over it to get it fixed.

Their site is unsecure as well. My site got hacked four times within three months - three of those times within three weeks. They did nothing to help secure anything and I had to hire someone to recover my site and get it moved to somewhere safe. It's never been hacked again. The only reason I had my site with them for so long was because I had a friend offer space on her account for free as I got my business going.

Truly a horrible company to do business with.

Harrison the owner is a condescending twerp who uses HostClearly to pose as a helpful hosting service. I had reseller hosting and was attracted to it because of the price. I got my sites (both personal and client sites) hacked at least 5 separate times in a row. I got no resolution to these problems and he refused to refund my money. I had to rebuild whole websites and lost clients from this guy. He tried blaming it on CMS rather than revamping his security. DON'T RISK IT! HOST CLEARY IS CRAP.
