They used to be a good outfit. Until @ 18 months ago. They ‘upgraded’ the servers, lost my data, my FTP backups stopped working, and there email is often blacklisted so my forwarding accounts do not work.

Worse still tech support is now really bad. No phone support. Poor resolution on emails.

Also their package has not changed in 6 years, still 500mb, still a data cap. There’s lots of company out there that do not impose these restrictions.

Save yourself the headache and go with a reliable provider.

I used to use GoBigMedia for a number of domains, but shifted all but one a few years back. Today there was a problem with the last domain. Emails stopped coming through. I called them and found that they had changed their pricing plans several years ago, eliminating free email accounts. Without any warning, but for what they said was an email about 18 months ago that I never saw, they suspended my email today! Upon talking with them they did open it again, offering to sell me a minimally priced email package. I decided that I preferred to transfer to another domain provider. The conversation with their tech support group was one of the weirdest I have ever had and they were brutally rude. The woman who represented herself to be a manager and later as one of the owners of the company was horrendous to deal with and in the middle of simply trying to understand the options, she summarily fired me as a customer, telling me that she chose to end the customer relationship. the [read more...]

The switch was a nightmare. All my emails were lost including important documents and attachemts. The system is down a lot. Sometimes for an entire day. Emails are returned to the senders during this time. If you call customer service you get a voice mail directing you to their website which of course is down. They don't even have the decency to post something letting us know what the heck is going on. This has cost me money. I am in Real Estate and having email that works is crucial.

The price seems fair enough (if the service was reliable), and if you actually reach customer service the guy is nice. It's always the same guy. I believe he knows that what is happening is B.S.

Same issues. One thing that seems to work is at gobigmedia.com website if you click on customer control panel in red bar, then click forgot registry key, it actually arrives automatically. When I originally set-up with gobigmedia, I used my personal email as the contact info as my company email wasn't set up with gobigmedia. The registry key arrived within a few hours. I was then able to go in and unlock the domain names and repoint them to my new hosting service.

I chose InMotionHosting.com. I've been with them only a few days so no long term pats on the back yet. I always get a support person on phone or web chat right away, understandable people.

I have been with gobigmedia for over 10 years. The first 9 were great, but the last one has been terrible. They changed email systems and this one is down several times a month. Like today, it went down yesterday right after noon and was off almost 23 hours. It came back up for about 4 hours and is now down again. Sometimes the off time is just minutes, other time hours, but it's just not good. I would not recommend their service to anyone that needs consistent email support and am considering cutting my losses and just moving my domain elsewhere.

When it works, it is good. Probelm is when the e-mail goes down (3x in last two months) it is impossible to get in touch with anyone remotely representing customer support. I would not recommend this host to colleagues based on lack of customer sercvice.

In the past few days, GoBigMedia is unreachable, problem resolution is non-existent!

The email server changeover was bad enough, but when email is down for HOURS, crucial information delivery is delayed. Attempting to call GoBigMedia gets you a message to use their online support link, which doesn't work since their own web site is down.

I have been with GoBigMedia for a long time, over 5 years, and just allowed them to remain transparent. I did not need support nor did I have any reason to contact them until NOW.

NOW we have a company that is unreachable to get them to unlock my domain so I can relocate it to a more reliable host. NOW we have a company that knows and understands the importance of customer service but hides behind voice mail and email avoiding the very people that feed the principles of GoBigMedia's families. GoBigMedia takes money for a service they are NOT DELIVERING.

Im not quite having the other experience a few others are having. I would never get a hosting package with a company that didnt have live customer service (been there done that). they have a 800 number and chat. I did experience a server problem a few months back, and no I wasnt happy but the same thing happened at another company I was at as well. For the price and the control panel functions that I need (Wordpress, Joomla etc), Im happy with it.
I have a REAL hard time with people that use "website builders"....who also attempt to give reviews on hosting. I mean really? The website builder is hard to use? LOL OK Then.

They hosted my e-mail for this domain. And have lost ALL of my folders with archived e-mails and attachments. Contacted Customer service June 30th and was told that they had changed servers and my folders did not get transferred to the new server and they would have the transfer done in 48 hours.
July 6th was on hold for service twice for over 15 minutes and unable to get through. Submitted a service ticket on line Flagged Urgent and the only response in over 24 hours is they received the ticket but still no folders no contact ZIP

Non existant customer service, we have had no email now for nearly 3 WEEKS because they decided to change their server, without notice.

Last year again without notice they changed the website builder and made making changes a real hassle.

My advice, stay away and host with anyone else, you could not get worse service from Gobigmedia.com

Their customer support is rude and nasty. Their service is no better, in fact it is unreliable because without any notification, they make any change they want. They do not care about their clients.
Stay away from them.
