After 14 hours, the domain was not delivered. I contacted their support team and they responded with this awesome answer:
Thank you for waiting.
The registration of .GR domain names can take 5/6 days after the registration request, as you can check in:
Unluckily there is nothing we can do to accelerate this delay, as the domain name is activated by the registry.
I am at your disposal should you need any further information.
5-6 days to deliver a domain, when the competition needs only 5-6 minutes?
And they expect from customers to read all instructions all over their site, before placing an order?
I've hosted with Gandi for 2 years. I even moved some family and businesses over to Gandi as well.
I tried to do a simple domain transfer for one of my int'l .jp domains because Gandi overcharges for them ($90 yr).
My new registrar tried for 10 days to get it transferred from Gandi. Gandi email support is a joke. They email every 2 or 3 days to say its "in process".
The first Gandi email tried to argue that Gandi was not a reseller for a Japanese registrar and to send the transfer request to Gandi only. My new registrar and JPRS had to verify that they were indeed only a reseller! So requests had to be made to their parent Japanese registrar.
Why they did not know that is beyond me! After 11 days (1 day before the transfer expired), it finally went through!
After this fiasco, I tried to transfer a .com away from them too. It's still sitting in my Gandi control panel 5 days later! I have no idea if they are just insanely slow or what, but this is pretty ridiculous for [read more...]
About GandiGANDI.net was one of the first domain name registrars approved by ICANN for .COM, .NET,.ORG, .BIZ, .INFO, .NAME, .BE, .FR, .EU domains in France. It now offers over 600 domain extensions and continues to add to this list on a regular basis. Gandi considers itself to be an ethical domain name registrar in an industry that has some 'grey' practices. It values the customers rights and privacy above all else and seeks to defend these wherever possible.
GANDI SAS was founded in 1999 by three individuals who were highly regarded in the French internet world (Pierre Beyssac, Laurent Chemla, and Valentin Lacambre). In 2005, Gandi was bought by an experienced European management team within the same field, in order to create an alternative and independent line of Internet services based around domain names. Gandi has offices in Paris (France), San Francisco (United States), Bissen (Luxembourg) and Taipei (Taiwan).
Gandi is devoted to providing tools for everyone to fulfill their online needs whatever that purpose may be. Whether it is to discuss their interests (travel, family, passions, etc.), to present products or services, or to simply express themselves. In short, we enable people to lay claim to a quality online presence, both personal and professional. We position ourselves as the next port of call after Internet access providers, since the domain name is the first step in creating your own piece of the Internet.
We manage more than 1,800,000 domain names from 192 countries, which places us as first among domain name registrars in France, sixth in Europe, and in the top 15 worldwide.

Gandi - originally a domain registrar - launched the Xen-based virtual server hosting product in October, offering server shares (each representing 1/60 of a 4x quad core machine) which customers can buy and use collaboratively to host their web applications.
The company says it made the upgrade to the server specs after analyzing the usage patterns of 5,000 customers, and soliciting their feedback.
"There's been a lot of talk within the IT industry about cloud computing tools and what they offer consumers, but this is one of the first products designed specifically for small businesses," says Joe White, chief operating officer for Gandi, quoted in the press release. "It's completely scalable so that it works just as well for a one person consultancy as it does for a mid-sized operation; it's cost ... [search all gandi.net news]

My user name after extensive exploration turned out to be my "instance number". I guess making that up pleased them. There was NO control panel of the sort other web hosts have. No help on weekends. No useful help at other times. I was left with no available website after many hours of effort on my part and received no help. I paid them money and got nothing.
I have been in the IT market since 1995, so: I am not a newbie. Some weeks ago, I decided to move some of my personal domains to gandi.net to test their services. I was quite optimistic and enthusiast, because of their services (lots of rare extensions), and their catch-phrase "no bullshit". Well, my experience was and it is still awful. To be kind.
Their customer service does not exist. You will always have to wait from 12 to 36 hours (up to 20... days!) to get an answer (about very easy topic, such as renewal duration, offers…), and you can consider yourself lucky if you receive a standard reply. It is not possible to manage any support request nor change/add anything. Just send an email and wait.
That’s not all. As soon as they registered my first domain I lost my privacy whois. It’s quite incredible because with that national authority, the privacy feature is set by default! I asked why that had happened and I simply got no answer for weeks. In the meanwhile, the domain was [read more...]
i have problem with ltd owner ship change.
i talked with several person but any time different wrong answer that never worked.
worst part they not familiar with they system. and don't have phone # at all.
right no my domain lock up for three month in the system becuse of gandi sas errors .
a simple transfer take more than four moth so far.
use other registrar or make sure you never need costumer support and stable system.
I lost my domain because of these scumbags. When it came time for renewal, I had to mail them a photocopy (welcome to the Internet) of my identification, and even that wasn't good enough for them. The customer service was terrible, and I couldn't jump through enough hoops for them to prove who I was..
I have been hosted by Gandi for more than 1 year. Opposite to some reviews I am seeing here, I always got extremely fast and competent answers from the customer service, which was not the case at 1and1 where I was hosted previously.
The website runs perfectly and I never got a problem with it.
I do recommend them.
First they cancel order and wont accept promo, I contact their support they asked me to fill our contact info form, I filled and submitted but no positive response.
Next day they asked to send your ID card. What I got is type of scam, coz they did not mention id requirement at their contact info form.
Stay away from them.
Recently the web page has been changed from intuitive to extremely difficult to understand & manage.
Support is now so poor as to be completely non-existent.
All questions are answered by e-mailing a dictionary taken from the site "Self Help" instructions.
It is impossible to find the pages to redirect e-mails, to to redirect Web traffic or to change account details
The actual workings of the service is good - It is unfortunate that web-page interface prevents the user access to managing the service.
Requests for support simply are ignored.
