Only been with these guys for 3 months and they have lived up to their reputation. Got an issue solved at 3am this morning. Just like to share that.
Just when I thought I had deleted my site they had it restored from backup in 10 minutes. Good job guys.
I have used 5 of the top web hosting companies and in fact have a few accounts with some of them still. I wanted to spread my sites over a few companies in case one fell over.
I must say out of all of the companies I use, Digital Pacific are the best in relation to uptime and customer support. They have been around for 10 years now and they are a solid organisation.
I have had issue after issue with other companies I use. I am about to break my rule of using one hosting company and move all of my sites over to DP. That was my 2012 New Years Resolution, I wont look back.
If you are looking for a reliable hosting company, then they should be in your shortlist. They are not the cheapest but not expensive either and from experience the cheapest does not mean the best. I have tried them all.
If you want to sleep at night, dont waste your time looking around....
I have been a customer of Digital Pacific for over 2 years now and can not fault it. The technical support guys helped me whenever I had a question, were always friendly and went out of their way to assist me on more than one occasion. Their prices are extremely reasonable, especially when you consider they have all their servers in Australia and do not outsource technical support. Enough said, I would recommend this company to absolutely everyone.

I even got support on a Saturday with a real person in Australia not an Indian in India.
I would like to thank all at Digital pacific for all their help.
I will teach you all something: you get what you pay for and if you want a cheap hosting account be prepared to get cheap support.

When I signed up they called me a day later to see how everything was going with my account and if that they could help with anything at all. I thought that was my job to call them when I was stuck but here is this company going above and beyond the call of duty to reach out to their customers. Now that's service!! Today I had a problem with a web form that I had stuffed up and they restored it from a backup they had from a hour ago as they stated they snapshot backups or whatever every hour. Then they called me to see if it was working the way I wanted and they made some config changes.
I have had a few web hosting companies in the past but digital pacific tops the list. They also have a long history (11 years) in the game as well and they know their stuff. I [read more...]
on several occasions i have had to ring the company to upload a new site or whatever, and on every occasion whom ever i dealt with every time has gone above and beyond to help me with my question.
maybe this business has made a mistake or two over time with some people "big deal" from my experience i wouldnt use anyone else.
I must admit I had an issue outside of their business hours and did get a reply to my email within an hour. It seems that there is always someone looking at support requests 24/7
They have been around for almost 10 years and they know what they are doing. They are definitely a professional outfit!
They have cPanel and Plesk now so there is a great choice of control panels.
I would not recommend using this company for any hosting plans, seems like downtime occurs when there is no support.
no 24/7 support is dissapointing.
Their after sales support is excellent. It's not often I leave reviews for companies but I thought I would go the extra mile to leave them one since they went the extra mile when helping me get set up :-)
Recommend this company without any hesitation!
2. The control Panel has been updated to a newer version, we will admit that the old one was not the best but now we are using both Plesk and cPanel which are the same as many other hosting companies.
3. We hold a better up-time than 95% hosting companies out there, research will tell you this.
Overall we have been around for almost 10 years and have build a very reputable business with good Australian based customer support. Nothing is outsourced overseas.
Nevertheless, after few months I would like to cancel my hosting with them, they told me they will never refund (I paid one year hosting in advance. ) I was like.. what the.. if there is no contract, then what is their right to keep my money and provide no service????
I wrote an email to them.. this customer service said oh, we can credit to another account hosting with them... but I dont have one.. then next email another customer service guy said.. oh.. no, we dont do refund at all.... O_O their service is very lousy... and beware of this no contract bullshit.
But the uptime is so good, and the servers are fast - not as fast as MelbourneIT but still good.
I can't believe how bad digital pacific is. In the past two months our website and the entire Digital Pacific website/system has been down several times for hours at a time. I can't believe it! We do business with other hosting services ie. ix webhosting, Media Temple, Gate.com, etc and have never had this problem.
NEVER HOST WITH DIGITAL PACIFIC!
