We moved to them 6 months ago when our existing sharepoint hosting provider decided not to continue with shared hosting business.

We have been very pleased with the reliability and support we have received so far. They were patient in migrating our site from the previous provider. It took some iterations though.

When we needed to move recently fron basic sharepoint version to enterprise they were able to do that. It is nice to have full range of offering and options.

Plus pricing is reasonable.

Good exchange hosting service
Very reliable service and support for our emails. They have been hosting our exchange emails for the last couple years. No complaints so far.

We used to have exchange server in-house before. I believe this is a better hassle free approach for small business like ours. Saves money as well.

Terrible Customer Service & Technical Assistance
I was with Apps4Rent for over a year using their email hosting services for Exchange 2010, smartphone sync, web client, and archiving. It is overpriced for what it is. Whenever I needed tech assistance the call center in India wasn't efficient or knowledgeable. There was a 4 day period when my email was down which hampered my business. Their bedside manner and customer care is downright awful. I'm glad to have left and now have a much better email host provider with U.S. call centers.

Reliable service with helpful technical support. We have been using exchange for over 4 years and recently added Virtual Desktop.

We often have many part time consultants working for us depending on the time of the year. We don't have any internal IT department. We find that their support is able handle our requests quickly when a new set-up is required.

Unstable servers, dodgy practises
The access to the server is pretty limited, cannot even enable / disable complex password policies. Cannot even backup or restore the server.
Cannot apply any ms updates, otherwise server will crash.
If the server crashes for whatever reason apps4rent charge high fees to fix.
Our server blue screened for no apparent reason and then we could not gain access to it via rdp. Tech support will not fix unless we pay, they will not even restore from backup unless we pay.
They are obviously cheap for a reason, its so that they can hit you
Its a complete rip off and it appears to us that they have sabotaged our server on purpose so that they can charge us to fix it.

Good job on moving us to the cloud based apps
They have done a commendable job over the last few years in moving us to the cloud.

We started with them on SharePoint then added exchange.

Recently, we moved all our 6 employees on virtual desktop. Their service is reliable and support is very helpful. They help us configure our printers and various remote access clients very patiently.

Service is reliable and would recommend it.

if you all need a professional service apps4rent is NOT the one for you. The services provided by them run of one data centre and never had any disaster recovery plans.

Never trust them! the 30 days money back is just on the server and not for the connectivity to the server or unavailability access to the server.

It is just a blame game..

Offline for 80+ hours straight, no customer communication, deceitful advertising
I've been a customer of Apps4Rent for a few years, and until now had nothing much to complain about. Their website claims to have "multiple reliable data centers.. with 99.99% uptime." Except, Hurricane Sandy just revealed that that was all a lie. They have been offline for nearly 80 hours now, their "live support" (contracted call center in India) has no idea on ETA on fixing. The hurricane isn't their fault. Claiming to have multiple reliable data centers, when really they don't, has permanently damaged my business, and IS THEIR FAULT. I have lost business in the several thousands of dollars due to my not being available to confirm via email new work that was then re-assigned to another contractor. No customer support. No communication. Deceitful advertising that puts my critical business communications at risk? Shame on Apps4Rent, I hope they go out of business. Maybe a class-action lawsuit would hurry up that process a bit.

No DR Strategy
I am an Apps4Rent Exchange hosting customer. I strongly recommend against using this service. I will be taking my service elsewhere as soon as their servers come back up and I can backup my data.

Exchange has been down for 2 business days now. I know that you can’t control the weather (storm took out their power), but there are well accepted Disaster Recovery strategies in the industry that would prevent this length of downtime (like failover servers that are geographically separated).

I notice that their sales web server seems to be using these DR strategies as it is still running without interruption from the storm.

Support is painfully slow but be very careful, they are malicious.

When I converted to Microsoft's you disabled forwarding of my accounts.

I think this is illegal according to their service commiment, perhaps fraudulent.

After 4 days and spending hours on the phone, it still doesn't work!
We can't get to the website. They are hosting the domain but you only get to a blank white page when entering our URL. Support can't figure it out. They say hold on for a couple of minutes and might come back 20-30 minutes later. Then they say it's fixed and we need to wait 12 hours for propagation, but half a day later nothing has changed!

We buyed a sharepoint hosting plan, In the second month by mistake we deleted a site collection, when we requested the backup, they requested us $50, worst, the backup had a failure and we lost 1.7GB of data. 1.7Gb!

We have requested a refund but have not received an answer.

These idiots terminated by e-mail account for non-payment even though I was on auto-pay. They were sending me notices that there was a problem to an e-mail address that does not exist, so I was totally unaware that there was a problem until they shut down my e-mail account. Yes, you heard that right! They did not send me notices to my e-mail address, which I am paying them for! It’s not like they “did not have my e-mail address!”. WTF! Freak’n Losers! As a result of their incompetency I lost all of my e-mails, history, my entire address book, etc. Everything! Then they had the “balls” to ask me for a $50 fee to reinstall my data from their backup server. Give them a call sometime. They are huddled up in a little room somewhere in India and you can actually hear rotary phones (yes, “rotary phones) ringing in the background. This makes understanding their poor English all the more difficult! Good luck with these guys . . . . . .

What a service....They are one of the best out there when it comes down to support and service. i hvae been using exchange 2010 with outlook on pc and my droid x and have not had any issue....support guys are good and very polite. they helped me configure my initial outlook without a fuss. I last updated my SharePoint site on Thursday 6/23 and when I went into my site on Sunday 6/26 all the data was a month old. When I contacted Apps4Rent they gave me every possible reason how this couldn't happen. I do not have full access to manage my site at the server level, but somehow they won't take responsibility. They tell me to give them time to check into it and in the meantime my data is lost, and I am loosing business. They will not return my calls nor take responsibility for what has happened and I am am an extremely unhappy customer. They are nice people on the phone, but nice doesn't get me business nor by data back. Does anyone recommend any other hosting companies?

Great Support and Services!

I have been with them for 2 years on Exchange 2007. I moved over to Exchange 2010 recently in a planned and phased manner. Support was helpful in moving me from the 2007 to the Exchange 2010 platform..no major changes from my side was needed except for setting up Outlook for users.

For me....I am getting service and support which is worth every cent I pay them.

* helpful, unless you want to quit the service

The bad:
* anti-spam service is unusable
* control panel system is dated
* their billing system is flawed

I am now hosted at a different provider with better spam protection. My new provider costs a little more, but it is so worth it!

i had exchange 2007 with them and recently they launched exchange 2010. I moved to exchange 2010 and they did it very nicely for me without any loss of mails. support as many have noted here....it is fantastic. they have good staff and know the game well.

I have been hosting my e-mails with them. The support is fantastic...When I was migrating around 19 months back for thanksgiving. They helped me completely during the migration with no additional charges...I was able to save quite a bit of charges due to free migration and free phone sync that they have. Best part is they logged into my PC to fix some issues for mails. My last provider was more expensive due to additional phone sync charges and not that good support.

great service. i have hosted my site and e-mail with one of the good providers. I signed up with them for basic sharepoint for learning and I liked the support; well trained tehcs who know what to do and are very helpful. I am planning to move my corporate mails and website to them; but thats a company discussion. we might start with some mailboxes hosted with them and some with the current provider and slowly move over everything to Apps4Rent.

They are very good with service. I signed up with them couple of years ago and have been happy with them for long time. Lets see if I can move my webhosting to them.best part is.they give 100 MB free sharepoint with exchange.I have not crossed it yet as my usage is not much.

When I saw sharepoint I realized how Microsoft is changing the world. Sharepoint is very good and is a recommendation for everyone...better with apps4rent.

I can vouch for these guys on any given day....great support and service with great product. I started using the services when I needed 500 MB of space for sharepoint....and I have gradualy moved to the higher plans they have...In these 10 months or so I contacted support only once on chat and they were quick in fixing the problem.

I have come a long way with them...from 500 MB to the 10 GB plan of SharePoint....I have hosted site and other such things with many other providers and I am yet to notice such a good and great support/service from any other provider out there in these 5 years.

The offerring and such a good price and services are all value for money...I am planning to also move to hosted exchange they with my 5 mailboxes....maybe by thanksgiving I will do that.

Control panel dated and difficult to understand. SharePoint search wasn't properly configured and they gave me a hard time when I asked them to fix it. Only 2 weeks worth of backups and $50 to do a restore.

Biggest thing, they lost one of my sites, yes, lost it. It disappeared. I didn't use it for a month and when I noticed, it was too late to even recover from backup.

I teach SharePoint development and administration and used to recommend Apps4Rent to my students. No more.

I signed up with them areound a year and half ago based on reference of my tutor for SharePoint. I just needed this for training initially so I preferred using a cheap provider that would not need a domain.

Support was very helpful and great. I observed some thing which i havent seen in may companies about the knowledgebase they have. They have added many articles over these years. I cant comment on voice support as I have taken support on chat and e-mail and they are quick and great.

The support is technically oriented and hence the resolutions are quick and swift. I am planning to go for reseller service and sell my SharePoint skills via the offerring they have.

- Control panel system is dated and doesn't work on firefox
- Technical support are clueless, claim to sort problems out but don't
- Their billing system is flawed
- Please for your own sake find a different provider to go with, trust me paying a little extra will be worth it!

1. We have had over 100 emails bounce back (both sending and receiving) and we have repeatedly forwarded the bounce back emails to apps4rent who claim to 'fix the issue' yet we still receive bounce back emails constantly - there email system is not functional.

Completely unethical, charged during a "free" period. Refused to refund when account cancelled. Had a LOT of trouble getting hold of support to cancel the account and then when I did as guided they said they needed something different to cancel the account. They might be MS silver/gold/platinum partners but I've voted with my feet and gone!

Apps4rent is one of the worst service provider and they don't have real servers. my server went down every alternate day when i contacted they told its a microsoft issue. I have another server with intermedia and they never wend down. so how can they tell its microsoft issue? apps4rent is liar. they should be banned. i will request microsoft to cancel their gold partnership for this irresponsible act.

We were using Exchange 2000 in our company and decided to outsource to a Dedicated Exchange 2003 server with Apps4rent.com. Their web based control panel lets me manage groups of users together and I can control advanced and simple settings on all of our 630 users. In comparison to managing Exchange internally, Apps4rent.com’s service is very easy to configure and use. We have Windows 95-Vista/Outlook 97-2007 as well as Mac/Entourage, Linux/ Evolution clients and Apps4rent.com has supported all of our configurations.

Do not go with this company. They mischarged us and never provided a refund - multiple phone calls and emails I was told it would be taken care of and it never was. I have never seen such negative business practices as this small operation. After overcharging us $800 not once, but twice on accident, they failed to refund us when we requested, and continually told us they would do so. Their system failed to run our card properly, for which we were blamed, and when we requested to pay by check because the system was mischarging us they refused. They shut down our email accounts with a two day warning, causing all of the businesses we outsource to (we are an IT co) to lose their access as well. When we requested access for a day so we could review the invoices because the paperwork they provided on what we owed was showing we were owed money, they refused.
