Feb 12, 2004 : Matrix to Distribute Red Hat in Israel


📅 - Matrix (http://www.matrix.co.il), a systems integrator based in Israel, announced on Wednesday that it has been selected by open-source software firm Red Hat to be the main distributor of Red Hat Enterprise Linux solutions and services in the Israeli market. Based on the agreement, Matrix will offer Red Hat's solutions and services to Israeli organizations working in Unix environments.

"Red Hat has set itself the target of increasing its operations in the international arena and entry into Israel is part of the process of expanding our global activities," says Alex Pinchev, president of international operations at Red Hat. "Red Hat has identified the growth in the field of Linux in the Israeli market and has therefore decided formally to enter this market. We have chosen to do so with Matrix, a strong and well-established company with a proven reputation in marketing software products, introducing and implementing technologies and carrying out projects."
Natan Gavish, senior vice president of marketing and manager of the software products division at Matrix, said that the company plans to focus squarely on the Linux market in 2004, helping generate what he anticipates will be approximately $2 million in revenue.
"We welcome the strategic entry of Red Hat into the Israeli market and are proud that the company has chosen Matrix as its main distribution channel in this market," says Gavish. "By leveraging Red Hat Enterprise solutions and services in Israel, Matrix is able to set up a broad network of services and personnel for organizations working in a Linux environment.
