Jul 15, 2005 : Ipwalk Releases Stats Service Publicly

📅 - Sweden's Ipwalk AB announced on Thursday that it had released publicly for the first time its Ipwalk (http://www.ipwalk.com) statistical service. The service was originally released to a closed audience on April 1, 2005.
Ipwalk, the company says, holds statistics on every generic domain name in the world, grouping them by hosting provider and providing the history of each domain name. All data for the service, which contains more than 54 million domain names and over 700,000 Web hosts in its database, is updated on a daily basis. Ipwalk says the service ultimately gives hosts and registrars a significant competitive advantage. "With my experience of the hosting industry I've come to realize the need for a service such as this," says Sam Nurmi, CEO of Ipwalk AB. "Ipwalk.com is of great value for everyone in the hosting industry. You?re able to view the growth of a certain company over a period of time and compare it to other companies as well as notice the effects of a certain marketing campaign. I'm confident in the fact that this service will change the way that hosting companies perform their business in the future." Ipwalk was developed by the Serbian firm Troxo (http://www.troxo.com).
