IT Leaders having Trouble Finding Qualified IT Professionals in Canada


📅 - According to a CIRA Report, 20% of Canadian IT leaders are struggling with recruiting qualified IT professionals. The report also showed that 46% of IT leaders are struggling to fill IT positions over the past year in Canada.

Most IT businesses in Canada believe it's a priority to be able to recruit, hire and retain skilled IT professionals. However, the CIRA survey of 1,200 Canadian internet users and 300 IT leaders produced a report showing the difficulties IT companies are facing in this area.

📅 - Federal Reserve Breached 50+ Times Since 2011 - Reuters recently reported that the Federal Reserve has detected more than 50 breaches of its computer systems since 2011. The central bank has been attempting to close up its vulnerabilities to spies and hackers.

A total of 310 reports were reviewed, and of those, 140 were described as hacking attempts, 4 were considered acts of espionage, and 51 cases of information disclosure. Two of the reported espionage events resulted in breached information being disclosed. This information was accessed through a Freedom of Information Act request.
