📅 - Even though about 80% of those surveyed believe privacy is a fundamental right, about half think the government should be given access to encrypted files for safety, according to research done by Open-Xchange. The Consumer Openness Index 2016 shows the strong opinions people have on privacy, along with only about 20% using email encryption.
Germans responding to the survey are much more likely to use email encryption than Americans, while about 50% for every country participating stated encryption is “too complicated.” The survey included about 3,000 interment users from Germany, the United States and the United Kingdom. .
