Takedown Requests Over the 2 Million Mark Daily for Google

📅 - Each day, Google receives approximately 2.2 million takedown requests due to copyright violations. In fact, they've already removed over 15 million URLs from search results just in the weeks of November because of copyright infringement.

Google has reported that back in 2011, it received hundreds of takedown requests in a day but now it's over 2 million. The number has increased more recently than ever before with around 7 million just in the first half of the year and around 15.7 million in the first week of November.

With 66 million requests in the last month from over 72,000 domains, 5,500 copyright holders, and 2,500 reporting organizations, the attempt to satisfy these demands has caused Google to make many changes to their search ranking algorithm. The next report on the latest will take place at the end of the year.
