Dropmysite Forges Strategic Partnership with BIGLOBE, One of Japan’s Largest Hosting Providers

📅 - Dropmysite Pte Ltd, a leading website, email and mobile backup service, today announced that it has forged a strategic partnership with BIGLOBE, one of Japan's largest Internet service providers, to provide its Dropmysite website backup and recovery service to BIGLOBE's cloud hosting customers. Through this partnership, BIGLOBE customers will now be able to automatically backup and recover their website and email data from the cloud on demand following unplanned outages or other disruptions of service.

As more websites fall victim to hacking, computer viruses and accidental corruption of data, there is increasing demand from businesses and individual website owners for automatic backup of and easy restoration of webpages, critical files and databases. Backup and recovery are especially challenging for small and medium-sized businesses, which often lack the technological expertise to configure and manage their own backup servers.

Dropmysite began offering cloud backup and recovery services in 2011 as a response to these challenges, and as it has with dozens of other major ISPs and cloud hosting providers, will provide a white-label version of its popular services to BIGLOBE. Dropmysite offers a simple yet powerful user interface, low cost and flexible backup storage, using highly secure AES 256 encryption.

“By adding Dropmysite to our cloud hosting service, our customers can easily access the cloud backup service without having to set up or configure any new hardware. We are always looking to offer new value-added, self-service features to our customers, and we are confident that they will appreciate both the convenience and flexibility of the Dropmysite solution,” said Mako Kondo, deputy general manager at the business division of BIGLOBE.

BIGLOBE cloud hosting providers can now purchase Dropmysite from BIGLOBE's Cloud App Store and easily set up and start backing up their data from the Dropmysite user management screen. Users can also download and restore their backed up data at any time.

Dropmysite's standard backup service features include:

• Automated incremental file and database backup

• Fast and easy backup from the user management screen

• Quick download and restoration of data from the user management screen

• Ability to flexibly upgrade storage

• Encrypted protection for backed up data

• Affordable pricing starting from 250 yen/month for up to 10GB, excluding tax
