Online video and has grown significantly in popularity, with ComScore reporting that more than 11 billion videos were viewed by Americans in July 2008 -- an increase of two billion views from just a year ago.

Many companies are adopting the .TV extension as one method of alerting visitors to key multimedia elements on their site. Go Daddy is offering .TV domain registration for $24.99 a year. The new GoDaddy.TV layout seems to have taken its cue from Demand Media's (http://www.demandmedia.com) ChannelMe.TV by repackaging the .tv domain as a promotional product via video and social networking technology.

The newly redesigned site offers a complete multimedia experience that promotes Go Daddy through a selection of videos, photo album, and blog.

The site has exclusive videos from Go Daddy's roster of spokespeople, including Danica Patrick and Dale Earnhardt Jr., as well as  the Go Daddy-esque Super Bowl commercials, while the new Event Gallery section offers Go Daddy Girls' video, photos and blogs. "We wanted to have GoDaddy.TV match the power of the dotTV extension," says Bob Parsons, Go Daddy CEO and founder. "When someone visits a dotTV website, they expect to see multimedia -- and that's exactly what the GoDaddy.TV website gives them." Last week, Go Daddy announced it is the broadcasting sponsor for the Sprint Cup Series Sylvania 300 race at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire.
