😠 Hopeless. Wrong billings, failure to cancel, etc. Customer service is a joke, especially online "chat" (Sir, please type the URL of your credit card statement . . . ." I am not kidding).

It seems clear to me that they simply are not in control of their operations.

No uptime problems, and site response is OK.

Email services are very weak. No IMAP (at least on their basic plan) and worse, if I issue multiple email addresses, the users cannot set/reset their own passwords.

I've also used 1and1.com and there is no comparison. I'm pulling my two remaining accounts from Dot5 by the end of the year, and moving them to 1and1, and I'm willing to do this even though it means losing money.

😞 I've being hosting with them for about 2 years now. And I am really pissed at them at the moment. I have a website where I record my own audiobooks and publish them in .mp3 format. It's being a year since I started it. Then on Saturday all my .mp3 files disappeared. I called them and they said that storing media files are against their policy. So they just went and deleted it without any warning. So after a year they woke up and went on deleting files. Currently I am looking for a new hosting since I don't want to pay these people any more. If they gave me a 24 hour warning I would remove them myself and peacefully move them somewhere.

One issue might be the fact that they do not offer other kinds of web solutions, such as dedicated servers, VPS servers or reseller hosting.

Prices are reasonable, yet they are higher than what other companies in the industry provide. Nevertheless, Dot5Hosting does offer a 30-day money-back guarantee, so there is no risk with them.

There is no mention of an uptime percentage but their system does work on powerful hardware. They use vDeck control panel which could be disadvantageous for some customers.

😠 This is one of the worst you can get. I took their medium plan + 30 days money back deal, I canceled my account within the first week and asked for my refund. They just kept exchanging mail saying they refunded the money and asking me to fax my bank's account details and transactions so they can talk directly to my Bank!!!!. I got nothing from them and there is nothing wrong with my bank and they didn't even provide a reference number of their refund transaction although I asked for it. Then, it seems they blocked messages from my e-mail address and Just usurped my dollars. Its just a waste of time, money and effort. THE PLACE DOESNT WORTH IT

😠 The most horrifying experience! The most awful webhosting company. I doubt if things can ever get worse with any other company no matter how bad they may be. Dot5hosting does not belong to this day & age, where customer service, support and customer satisfaction are highly regarded, dot5 have none of these! Above all their operators hardly speak English or even worse, don't seem to have any human comprehension to understand you, be it by phone, email or chat. Worst still, their site are often down. I wonder how can they be allowed to operate? Is there no regulatory body to do anything about it, at least they can be shut down, be eliminated as the most awful company on earth and put many suffering people out of their miseries!

😠 Ever since they went to the new server and platform the service sucks. It takes forever for anything to load on our site. They said it was our site files but we loaded a completely new site with nothing in the databases and it take about 5 minutes for the new site to load and then any link you click it takes 5 minutes for that to load. These people have no idea what they are doing and should have just left the whole thing alone. I would recommend anyone looking for a host, look at any place other than dot5.

😁 I did their 3 month at a time, with a one year domain registration. This was a very easy to use company, and they had excellent customer service. I would highly reccomend them to anyone. And I also onened a second site thru them. They are better than others I have tried (like www.register.com )

😞 vDeck is an awful system. The FAQ and knowledge base are not helpful. Most frustrating experience I've ever had as a web designer. I agree, they make it very hard for people who like PHP/MySQL, but I managed to get it working after several hours of trying to figure out how to connect to the databases on my own. I would recommend paying a little more money and getting an easier host to work with.

😠 Dot5 was an account I got because they were cheap. I also purchased a domain through them. Now, trying to move that domain to my reseller account elsewhere, they require you to open a support ticket to get the domain unlocked. Well that was two weeks and several emails and phone calls ago, the domain remains locked, so I either pay eternal hosting costs or lose the domain. I'm ticked off with them, I would NEVER recommend them for any reason.

😠 I decided to go with another company after signing up for dot 5. Dot 5 was not as easy to use or user friendly as they had made it out to be. I cancel within the cancellation policy and it took a lot of e-mails and over a month to recive my money back.

😞 I didn't need much, so I though I'd get the cheapest one !! They can't even handle my simple Php/MySQL web site. I particulaly made my web-site to be fast... My web-site never got a high transfer rate or good response time !! It was even going down sometimes... I was faster and more reliable on my AMD 900 Mhz, 256mbs html server on a Cable connection !!!

😠 STAY AWAY! STAY AWAY! STAY FAR AWAY! They are horrible. If you have a plain website, go with them. If you are into php/mysql, they are lost. Tech support is ran by a bunch of idiots. They have no people skills. I think they are all foreigners, who can't really speak english! No offence! I'm a foreigner, but at least I can speak english! No customer service training at all. After less than a month, I finally gave up and transferred my site. Thank goodness they offer 90 days money back.

😠 i used this service $5/month i used this service for about a year it didn't really give me to many problems until i wanted to switch Name servers and i wanted to buy my domain name from them, so i paid the $7.95 a year and they still haven't sent me my information i keep asking them to send me the information needed to alter my DNS and to unlock it so i can transfer my domain name to a more reliable domain server.

Its been a week and they keep feeding me this garbage saying you'll recieve an e-mail 6-8 hours i checked every day and nothing yet every day i ask them they keep saying the same crap...

I advise you not to use this service, it is a waste of money their customer service is horrible.

😠 I am pleased to write this review. I have been trying to buy a domain with Dot5Hosting.... Here are the reasons I rate this hosting solution 1/10 !! Maybe they have a good price or good technical specs, but I never been able to register.. And at the end I was just discussed about their unprofesionnal staff.... There it is :

1) I have never had any news from them after buying my domain
2) I had to go chat with the guys online (at least 3 times) to finally have them to sent me an e-mail to ask me to send copies of my credit card
3) They asked me to send pictures of my credit card throught regular (not crypted) mail. When I told them this was an unsafe practice, they said it was for my own security !!!!! Seriously.... How professionnal is this ???????
4) After taking maybe an hour to explain them that I wanted to send them an encrypted file with all the information included, I sent them the e-mail and they just could not RECEIVE IT !!! I AM 100% my e-mail services work [read more...]
